The Dodge Durango is a full-size SUV that can seat up to 7 passengers across 3 rows. It competes with the Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer, and Honda Pilot.

Four trims are available: SXT, GT, R/T, and Citadel.

The Durango has an imposing appearance with its large crossbar grille and wide-mouth fascia. At the rear, the taillights are unified by a three-piece lamp unit that stretches across the liftgate. Standard features include front fog lights, power/heated side mirrors, and 18-inch aluminum wheels. Available features include a trailer hitch receiver, HID headlights, turn signal indicators at the side mirrors, a power moonroof, a power liftgate, a dual-pipe exhaust system, and 20-inch aluminum wheels. For a more aggressive appearance, the Durango has an available Blacktop Package which includes unique 20-inch black wheels and smoked headlights. This year, a new GT trim replaces the mid-tier Limited. The GT has sportier, monochromatic exterior styling. The GT trim also has an available Brass Monkey Appearance Package includes 20-inch bronze-finished rims, a body color-trim grille, and black-housed headlights.

Under the hood, the Durango is powered by a standard 290-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear- (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The R/T model comes with a more powerful 360-hp, 5.7-liter V-8 mated to the same 8-speed automatic and AWD. It delivers 390 pounds of torque and it has 7,400 pound tow rating. Fuel economy for the Durango V-6 is an EPA-estimated 19/26 mpg city/highway (18/25 mpg with AWD). It lowers to a 14/22 mpg rating for the R/T.

Inside, the Durango has a black cloth cabin with a 60/40 split-folding second-row seat for standard 5-passenger seating. A pair of captain’s chairs can be swapped in for the second row. A 50/50 split-folding third-row seat can also be added for a total of 7 passengers. With the rear seats folded down, the Durango has a maximum cargo capacity of 85 cubic feet. The center stack features a standard Uconnect multimedia system that includes a 5-inch touchscreen, CD/MP3 playback, and a USB port. It can be upgraded with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, an integrated navigation system, a satellite radio, a dual-screen Blu-ray and DVD rear entertainment system, and a Beats premium audio system. Standard features include tri-zone automatic climate control, power windows/locks, and remote keyless entry. Leather upholstery, remote vehicle start, power/heated front seats, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power moonroof are also available.

The Citadel trim gains a new, optional Anodized Platinum Appearance Package, which includes black/brown Nappa leather upholstery with silver accent stitching, a hand-wrapped instrument panel with silver accents, and anodized gunmetal/platinum interior trim. The R/T also gains a hand-wrapped soft-touch instrument panel with red accent stitching and black roof rails.

The Durango earned a 4- out of 5-star overall crash test safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Standard safety features include an advanced airbag system, antilock brakes, an electronic stability system, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Available features include a blindspot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, a backup camera, and rear park assist.
